Last fall, I met Jennifer and Andrew in downtown Boston for their engagement session. We walked from the couple's apartment along the shore of the Charles River just before sunset on a beautiful, but brisk, day in November.
Jennifer told me how she met Andrew:
“Andrew and I first met at a meet and greet for a softball league we had both joined. I came late to the event, straight from a work function at the MFA. Tired and still wearing a suit, I came only because my friend Kara kept texting me, telling me to come. Andrew had already been at the event for several hours when I arrived. Kara literally pushed Andrew into me, and we began chatting. He was quite friendly and charming (it was only later that I learned he is not usually that suave was feeling emboldened by a few beers). I thought he was cute, but way too young for me. After much conversation, and after learning that his boyish looks had deceived me, and he was actually only a year younger than me, I decided to give him a shot :) He asked for my email address and the rest, as they say, is history…”
We made sure to stop at the baseball field where they met. It was so meaningful to be able to photograph Jen and Andrew together in the place where their relationship started!
Toward the end of the session, Jennifer was getting quite chilly. She and Andrew stopped for a moment so he could warm her up with a hug. She instinctively put her head down on his shoulder and it was just a beautiful moment. I told them to stay right where they were and captured them together with the beautiful, warm sunlight in the background. That ended up being my favorite image from this shoot.
Thank you, Jennifer and Andrew, for spending the afternoon with me. I had so much fun with you! I can't wait for your wedding this fall at the Taj Boston!
